In January 2022, the-clo.com started a food truck named “fusekido” in Tochigi Prefecture, selling hamburgers.
While operating the food truck, we participated in events organized by local people. These events feature local shops and handmade artisans who display their carefully crafted products and hand them directly to customers.

However, local events face challenges such as limited advertising budgets and methods, fluctuating visitor numbers, and inconsistent sales, making it difficult for participants to sustain their businesses.
Before starting the food truck, I believed that the cheaper, the better when it came to my consumption habits. However, through the food truck activities, I realized that local shops offer quality products with a commitment to fair pricing that considers both the consumer and the shop’s livelihood.
Supermarkets and chain stores indeed provide high-quality services with good locations, prices, and convenience.
However, consumers have more options than just supermarkets and chain stores. Our town has butcher shops, greengrocers, and independently owned restaurants.
