About a 30-minute drive from central Kaisei Town.
I went to the Kanagawa Prefectural Yamakita Tsuburano Park in Yamakita Town. On Saturday, November 9, 2024, they were holding the Yamakita Tsuburano Park Festival, featuring concerts, art performances, and food sales from kitchen cars.
Tsuburano Park, known for its views of Mt. Fuji in the Ashigara area, had been on my radar for a while, and I finally got to visit during the festival.
The parking lot can accommodate 65 cars. From the parking lot itself, you can already see Mt. Fuji. The view is beautiful here, but let's enter the park to see more.

In Yamakita Tsuburano Park, the area visible in the back is "Sato no Hiroba".
On the festival day, kitchen cars were operating in the central plaza. The "Sato-no-Hiroba" has a gentle slope, offering views of the surrounding mountains.
There are also tea fields spreading out. This is probably Ashigara tea. It is tea harvested from the Tanzawa-Hakone mountain range and is sold in local supermarkets.

We are always grateful to Kyougetsu, which is also located in Yamakita Town.
From the central plaza, climb higher to reach Kanegatake Fortress Ruins, the highest point in the park, where there are swings with a view of Mt. Fuji. Additionally, on the opposite side of Mt. Fuji, you can see the Ashigara Plain and Sagami Bay. An informational board here mentioned that even the Edo period gazetteer "Shinpen Sagami Kuni Fudoki Kou" praised the superb view. While the view of Mt. Fuji is splendid, the view over the Odawara and Ashigara area, where you can see people gathered and their various activities in the plain, is also worth seeing.

Today, I was blessed with good weather and enjoyed the scenery from the park. It seems the Tsuburano Park Festival is held every year around this time. It's a park where you can enjoy the spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and Ashigara, so be sure to visit when driving in the area.
