The other day, I had gelato while I was out and was looking for gelato near my home. While driving through the Shimosoga area of Odawara to visit the main store of a gelato kitchen car that was at the Kaisei Town Hydrangea Festival, I saw “Soshu Torigin” on the right side, which looked like an old-established restaurant. I passed by that day, thinking it must be a famous local restaurant.Later, I looked up Torigin and found out that it is a yakitori and kamameshi specialty restaurant chain centered in Odawara, with the main store located in front of Odawara Station. It is quite a popular restaurant.
They also serve lunch, so I went there around 11:30 am, and there were already about six groups waiting. It was particularly noticeable that there were many three-generation families.
The lunch set includes three types of grilled items, kamameshi, pickles, salad, and chicken soup.
Since the kamameshi is cooked from raw rice, it takes time to be served, but don’t worry. The grilled items are served first, so the time passes quickly while enjoying them.
Additionally, the kamameshi offers a variety of options such as chicken, mountain vegetables, duck, and sake lees. How can the rice cooked in a hagama be so moist and smooth? The rice, infused with the flavors of the ingredients, is so delicious that even 0.8 cups of rice can be easily finished.
